We started today's walk at the Gloup Fisherman's Memorial, in the north west of Yell - in memory of 6 fishing boats that were lost in a storm in 1881. The walk took us along the side of a steep voe and back along the other side. As we were walking along the grassy top of the cliff, an otter popped up and was heading towards us before spotting us and doing an about turn.
We kept on walking round the coast; lots of cliffs, stacks and rocks - waves crashing everywhere. The sun came out which was a treat. We had lunch on a grassy patch watching the birds and the waves. We could see Muckle Flugga to the east and Ramna Stacks to the west.
We walked back over the hillside which was a bit boggy in parts. Back in the car, we drove a couple of miles to the Sands of Breckon and went for a paddle there - the sand was a bit rough on the feet.
