We drove north to Gutcher to catch the ferry to Unst. It was cold and windy while we waited for it arriving. We were susprised that it was full again. The cycle north was quite easy but that was mainly thanks to the tail wind. We stopped at the "Final Checkout" at Baltsound for some provisions before cycling on towards Herma Ness. We parked out bikes at the most northly bike rack in the UK before setting off on foot.
We carried on to get views of Muckle Flugga and Out Stack. We enjoyed the views just as much on the way back and walked south to see more fulmars and gannets swooping around the cliffs before heading back down the boardwalk. The cycle back to the ferry was tough. We struggled to find somewhere for lunch and ended up sheltering on the beach at Uyeasound after 4 o'clock. We then had to race back to catch the next ferry.
